The first phase of voting in Assam for assembly elections witnessed 45% of voter turnout till 2pm. In Assam, 47 constituencies across 12 districts are going to polls in the first of the two-phased poll for a total of 126 members Assam Assembly. BJP is hoping for a second straight term in Assam.
