Two forest fires in Thane, Palghar

Thane / Palghar, Mar 27 (UNI) Two forest fires broke out in two days in the hills in Thane and Palghar districts, it was learnt.
In an incident, a fire broke out at the Jivdani hills at Vasai on Friday night and it soon spread around the famed JIvdani temple on the historical hills, sources said.
The fire was raging till this morning, affecting area below the funicular railway that was constructed for the temple.
In yet another incident, a fire broke out in the Yeoor Hills of Thane city’s Sanjay Gandhi National Park area on late Thursday evening.
The fire in the forest was noticed by locals who alerted the Regional Disaster Management Cell and firefighters from Vartak Nagar. They rushed to the hills and put out the fire within a couple of hours and prevented it from spreading.
No one was reportedly injured in both the fire incidents, sources added.
