NZ Vs BAN 1st T20: Hasan Mahmud flies back home, Will miss the T20I series after failing to regain full fitness: Another setback for the Bangladesh camp as the 21-year old paceman, Hasan Mahmud is all set to fly back home after being diagnosed with a stiff back. He wasn’t able to regain full fitness ahead of the T20I series against New Zealand which is scheduled to take place from 28th March. Grappling with a back injury, Hasan also missed the 3 match ODI series against the Kiwis.

“The 21-year old has not trained or played due to a stiff back following the first ODI in Dunedin,” BCB said in a statement on Saturday. “Mahmud left for Dhaka today along with ODI Captain Tamim Iqbal. He will continue his recovery under the supervision of the BCB medical team.”
The young Hasan Mahmud made his T20I international debut in early 2020 against the touring Zimbabwe side. In his spell of 4 overs, he expelled 25 runs and went wicketless. Whereas, he made his ODI debut against West Indies earlier this year and so far he has played 3 matches in which he scalped 5 wickets in total.
He was a part of the playing XI in the first ODI match against New Zealand. He was quite expensive in that match with a spell of 4.2 overs, giving away 49 runs with a wicket to his name. He had to leave the field in between after announcing a stiff back and since then he hasn’t recovered fully and missed the remaining two ODIs and is now all set to miss the T20I series as well.
