IPL 2021: Suresh Raina’s Selfie with Chennai Super Kings’ Gear Evokes Best Reaction from Dwayne Bravo

As the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) looms near, Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Suresh Raina arrived in Mumbai on Wednesday and will join his teammates after completing his quarantine. To beat the quarantine blues, Rainatook to Instagram to share a picture from his hotel room where he is completing his mandatory quarantine. On Friday, Raina sporting a CSK jersey posted a selfie on the photo-video sharing platform. The photo also shows his gear such as bats and batting pads, among others.

CSK’s talisman batsman’s post received lakhs of likes and also a surprise comment from CSK teammate Dwayne Bravo. Reacting to Raina’s post, Bravo wrote, "Our King is back!!!"to cheer him up.

The MS Dhoni-led side had a forgetful last season as they finished sixth and failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in the tournament's history. Meanwhile, the CSK franchise retained 18 of their stars from the previous edition of the IPL, in January this year. The following month, during the mini auction, they further enhanced their squad with new additions in the form of Cheteshwar Pujara, Moeen Ali and few uncapped players such as CHari Nishanth and Krishnappa Gowtham among others.

Despite its return to India and due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic situation across the world, the IPL 2021 will once again be a behind closed doors affair, at least for the first part of it. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will decide on whether to allow fans for the latter stages at a later date.

This years’ edition of the IPL is scheduled to begin on April 9 in Chennai and ending on May 30 with the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Reigning champions Mumbai Indians will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Chennai in the first match. While, three-time champions CSK will kickstart their campaign on April 10 against Delhi Capitals in Mumbai.

The IPL 2021 matches will be played across six venues – Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.
