ICC ODI Rankings – England to stay No.1, Virat Kohli’s India misses out: Already the best side in Test cricket, Virat Kohli’s Indian team had an opportunity to become the no. 1 ranked ODI team. For that they were required to clean sweep the series. But with them getting pummeled in the second ODI at Pune, that chance has slipped out of hand for Virat Kohli’s team. England will stay as No. 1 ODI Team according to ICC ODI Rankings and India will be No. 2 as per the table.
The positions will not change even if India manages to win the last ODI and the series on Sunday.
After the victory in the first match, India had reached 6275 points. This meant an improvement of one rating point. On the flip side, England’s rating points also got reduced by one to 122. However, with England’s victory in the 2nd ODI, they are back to 123 rating points with India staying at 118.
To make things a little more disappointing for India, New Zealand also has reached 118 points after their 3-0 series sweep against Bangladesh and pushed India down to third in the rankings.
