Cuomo allegedly demanded accuser sing ‘Danny Boy’ in strange ‘hazing’ incident: report

In the weirdest harassment declare but to floor in opposition to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the lawyer for accuser Charlotte Bennett now says he demanded that the then-aide study the lyrics to “Danny Boy” and sing it to senior staffers.

The accusation by Bennett — one in all seven ladies accusing the governor of inappropriate behavior — was first reported by CBS News in New York.

“It’s a bizarre request, but he says, ‘I want you to memorize these lyrics,’” so she may sing it for members of senior workers, Bennett’s legal professional, Debra Katz, told the station Friday.

Bennett refused, the lawyer said.

“She says, ‘I don’t need to sing ‘Danny Boy.'”

But the governor persisted with his odd request, Katz said.

“He says, ‘Sing ‘Danny Boy,'” Katz said.

The request so obviously unsettled Bennett that Cuomo’s loyal high aide, Melissa DeRosa, interceded.

“At that point, Melissa DeRosa says, ‘You’re hazing her.’

“The governor then begins booming the music ‘Danny Boy’ and he’s singing himself and saying, ‘Sing with me,’” Katz mentioned.

Bennett — the second former aide to step ahead with harassment claims — said last month that Cuomo requested her inappropriate questions on her sex life, together with when she’d final been “hugged” and whether or not she sleeps with older men.

She also said the governor asked her to “discover him a girlfriend.”

Bennett said Cuomo never made a physical advance, but “I understood that the governor needed to sleep with me, and I felt horribly uncomfortable and scared,” she told The New York Times.

Katz advised the native station that Attorney General Letitia James’ workplace has already contacted 12 witnesses supplied by her shopper as they examine Cuomo’s alleged sexual harassment.

On Monday, Katz accused Cuomo of utilizing “in-house attorneys” to meddle with the independent investigation.
