Special teams to be deployed to prosecute traffic violators in Delhi on Holi: Police

Amid surging Covid-19 cases in Delhi, health minister Satyendar Jain says lockdown not a solution
As daily new Covid-19 cases continue to surge in the national capital, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Saturday said that lockdown is not a solution to deal with rising coronavirus infections.

Hospitals have a sufficient number of beds as of now. The occupancy is around 20% now, 80% of the beds are unoccupied. We are monitoring this, if occupancy increases, we will increase the number of beds: Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain
There were fewer Covid-19 cases earlier but it has increased now. So we have increased the number of testings and conducting 85,000-90,000 tests every day, which is more than 5% of the national average. We are also doing contact tracing & isolation.

Over 20,000 beneficiaries received shots of COVID-19 vaccine in the national capital by 6 pm on Friday, an official statement said here. In the 45-59 years age bracket, 2,092 beneficiaries received the shots, while 10,571 senior citizens also got their first jabs by 6 pm, an official said.
