Karnataka bars entry of people from border areas of Maharashtra to curb spread of Covid-19

Kolhapur, Mar 25 (UNI) Due to daily spike in Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, the Karnataka government on Thursday announced the ban on entry of people from the bordering districts of Kolhapur and Sangli into the state to curb spread of infectious disease.
According to a report here, Belgaum district administration has closed all entry points in disputed border areas of Chikode, Nipani, Sankeshwar and Kagwad along with Kolhapur and Sangli districts and also banned entry of people into disputed border areas from Kolhapur and Sangli districts from today.
The Belgaum district administration has made the RTPCR test certificate compulsory for entering Belgaum from Kolhapur district, it added.
