Vodafone Spain conducts 5G-based tourism trials in Malaga

Friday 26 March 2021 | 11:11 CET | News
Vodafone Spain said it has joined forces with Malaga City Council to develop two new pilot projects designed to boost tourism using the operator's 5G network. The first involved teaming up with Viewtek and using technologies such as Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality on the Vodafone 5G network to superimpose a 3D model of the unfinished part of Malaga's cathedral on the real building. Users with 5G devices simply need to scan a QR code, logo or image to access the high definition model and chronological route passing through each of the building's stages.
