Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister V Prashant Reddy said the construction of mosques, the temple and the church in the New Secretariat complex will be completed before the entire complex is built.
Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao allocated 1,500 square meters for the construction of mosques against the previous area of about 400 square meters. Similarly, he allocated 1,500 square meters for the construction of the temple compared to the previous area of 400 square meters. About 500 square meters have been allocated for the church, he said during question time in the Legislative Assembly on Friday.
The foundations for all three religious structures will soon be laid simultaneously, he said.
The foundation works could not be taken up as the excavated debris for the foundation of the secretariat complex was dumped over the available space in the complex, he said.
According to the rules, plans of the proposed mosques and temples were submitted to the Wakf council and the Department of Endowment for investigation, respectively. In addition, other plans will also be examined and a final plan approved for all three religious structures, the minister said.
Following a request from MIM MLA Pasha Quadri to lay the foundations for two mosques before the start of Ramzan month, the Minister assured that measures will be taken accordingly.
