On Wednesday, Lifetime announced that casting is underway and that production will begin in spring for a worldwide release later this year.

The third royal instalment follows Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, which centred on the couple's love story, and Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal which focused on their first year of marriage and the challenges of life inside the Royal Family. Parisa Fitz-Henley and Tiffany Marie Smith previously played the role of Meghan, while Murray Fraser and Charlie Field played the role of Prince Harry.

According to a press release by the network Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace will reveal what really drove the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to leave everything behind to make a future for themselves and their son Archie.

"The movie will detail Meghan's growing isolation and sadness, their disappointment that "The Firm" was not defending them against the press's attacks and Harry's fear that history would repeat itself and he would not be able to protect his wife and son from the same forces that caused his mother's untimely death," reads the statement.

"Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace will also reveal the private family feuds between Will and Harry, Kate and Meghan, and Harry with Will and Charles, that lead to the ultimate break from the royal ties."

Menhaj Huda will return as director for the upcoming movie.
