Hyderabad: The National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) on Thursday launched an investigation into the functioning of government-run social welfare schools in Telangana, based on a complaint alleging that there is an influence of ‘private group’ called ‘Swaeros’. daily functioning.

The complaint, submitted the Legal Rights Protection Forum claims to promote ‘Swaeros’ for the promotion of anti-Hindu ideology and the mind of children studying in schools / residences under the supervision of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Education Institutions Society (TSWREIS).

In the March 20 complaint, the forum claims that ‘Swaeros’ is engaging in highly furious antisocial activities by poisoning the minds of young children and the wider society in the name of uplifting poor SC students and providing quality education.

“Such dubious activities in the name of welfare must stop, and punitive measures must be taken to bring such state actors who work in a non-state manner to justice in the greater interest of public peace and the maintenance of Law & Order. “, Reads the complaint.

NCPCR noted that serious charges are being filed against the TSWREIS, alleging that Swaroes (an alumni group and activist working at the schools) are interfering by administering their own promises, folk songs and Guru Mantra.

“It wants to create the impression that it is Swaroes who run hundreds of educational institutions with their own funds, while the state government manages these institutions,” NCPCR said, referring to the group’s involvement in schools and colleges of society.

Furthermore, the commission took note of the complaint that Christian preachers were given free admission and were forced to participate in Christian worship, regardless of the ancestral beliefs of the students. “(The complainant) also claims that holidays for Hindu festivals have been changed, which prevents children from traveling home during such festivals,” reads the directive issued by Somesh Kumar, secretary general of the state.
