Fuel prices were cut on Thursday for the second consecutive day, bringing petrol down to Rs90.78 a litre in Delhi. Petrol prices were cut by 21 paise per litre and diesel prices by 20 paise per litre respectively after a sharp decline in international fuel prices.
Rates have been decreased across the country and vary from state to state depending on the incidence of local sales tax or VAT.
After today's cut, petrol is retailing at Rs97.19 per litre in Mumbai, Rs92.77 per litre in Chennai and Rs90.98 per litre in Kolkata.
Diesel has been brought down by 0.22 paise at Rs88.20 per litre in Mumbai, Rs86.10 per litre in Chennai and Rs83.98 per litre in Kolkata.
