2021 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine Sedan India Launch Live Highlights: The Mercedes-A-Class is the smallest model in the brand’s line up. The German automaker will launch the all-new 2021 A-Class, but this time in its new sedan form. Called the Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine, the model will offer three variants, including one tuned by their performance division at AMG. The A35 AMG will also be launched in India along with the standard models and Mercedes-Benz India is looking to target the model towards a younger audience. The Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine has a coefficient of drag of 0.22. Which makes it the slipperiest car on sale in India as its design allows it to be extremely aerodynamic.
The interior options on the new A-Class Limousine models include All-Black Leather, Macchiato Beige and black dual-tone and Black with Brown Walnut Wood. The AMG model can be equipped with an all-black interior with microfibre trim or longitudinal-grain aluminium trim.
The regular A-Class models will be offered in five colour options including Black, Mojave Silver, White, Grey and Denim Blue.
The Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC will be offered in these seven colour options. In Addition to special order of Sun Yellow, it will be available in White, Mohave Silver, Iridium Silver, Grey, Black, and Denim Blue
For April and May, the A-Class is already sold out. The A 200 is priced at Rs 39.9 lakh while the A 200d is priced at Rs 40.9 lakh. But the A35 AMG model is priced at Rs 56.24 lakh (ex-showroom). That is a stunning price meaning the A-Class genuinely offers great value, paired with the 8-Year Warranty.
These prices are introductory.
The A-Class as a model itself will be offered with an 8-year engine and transmission warranty! The warranty is not only industry-leading, which is transferable as well.
The Mercedes-AMG A 35 4 Matic will be offered in the special colour of Sun Yellow. However, it will be offered on special orders in limited numbers only.
The Mercedes-Benz A-Class will be locally manufactured in the plant near Pune. What is interesting is that the A35 AMG will also be locally manufactured making it the second AMG model after the GLC 43 AMG to be assembled in CKD form in India.
Mercedes-Benz India is launching the all-new A-Class Limousine exclusively on Instagram from their official handle. The launch event has now started.
The rear seat in the A-Class offers a decent amount of room for its segment. There is a good knee room and headroom in the cabin and the seat cushion is good. But during our review, we felt under-thigh support for the rear passengers can be improved. It features rear AC vents, USB-C charging ports and a centre arm rest with cup holders. Additionally, the A-Class offers up to 405 litres of boot space.
Like the A35 AMG, the regular A 200 and A 200d models will use Mercedes-Benz's global design language. Meaning, the headlamps on the vehicle are sharp, the nose and grille are bold with elegant creaseless contours that have been used to sculpt its elegant overall design. The model from the front is quite reminiscent of the CLS-Class, while the rear is quite similar to the newly launched E-Class with the sleek LED Tail Lamps.
The A-Class will run the latest version of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MUX) OS. The infotainment system uses three forms of inputs - Touchscreen, Voice Activation with "Hey Mercedes" and through the touchpad on the centre console. Additionally, you also get Mercedes Me Connect (MMC) which offers internet-enabled connected car technologies.
The Mercedes-Benz A 200 and A 200d models also get a really plush cabin with a dual-tone black and beige look. Like the A35 AMG, it also features the long glass panel which includes the 10-inch driver instrument cluster and the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The A35 AMG gets a retuned suspension as well as a more direct and dynamic steering rack to offer a spirited driving experience.
The A35 AMG's interior is similar to the standard car. However, it will feature an all-black look and the ambient lighting also adds a nice touch as well when it gets dark outside. The A35 AMG also gets the single pane digital dash with the touchscreen infotainment system that runs on the brand's latest MBUX OS with voice activation and connected vehicle technologies.
The A35 AMG model has a sporty appearance with a hunkered-down stance. It features a bold front bumper and an aggressive front double-slat AMG grille. The rear features LED tail lamps and a flared out rear bumper with functional dual-exhaust tips. The bottom of the bumper also features what resembles a diffuser. The AMG A35 4MATIC sits on 18-inch alloy wheels for the model which will be offered in the Indian market.
Along with the regular petrol and diesel engines, the Mercedes-AMG A35 4MATIC will also be launched in India today. Powered by the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, it offers 306 hp and 400 Nm of torque. This engine comes with an AMG tuned 7-speed DCT and does 0-100 in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 250 kph.

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine diesel will come in the form of the A 200d model. It features a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged motor which develops 150 hp and 320 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an 8-speed DCT automatic transmission.
The Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine in its A 200 petrol variant will be powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine which develops 160 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine in India will be offered in three engine variants, all in their highest-spec on offer. There will be the A 200 petrol, the A 200d and the A35 AMG performance variant.
The older W176 third-generation model will be replaced in India with the W177 fourth-generation model code of the A-Class in India. However, the sedan model uses the V177 model code. It offers a brand new exterior look, a new and more tech-laden cabin and will be offered in three engine options in India.
Mercedes-Benz A-Class was introduced in India as a hatchback and then in the CLA 4-door coupe form. However, for its price, there weren't many buyers for it. This time around, Mercedes-Benz will be launching the 2021 A-Class as a proper 4-door sedan, with no aggressively sloping roofline and an amply sized boot to go with it.
