Telangana: KTR hands over 350 Swachh Auto to beneficiaries

Hyderabad: Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K Taraka Rama Rao on Thursday handed over the 350 Swachh cars to the beneficiaries for the collection of garbage at the households in the city.

The minister said during the event that he was part of Swachh Hyderabad in order to improve civilian facilities. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) uses another 650 Swachh engines with a higher lifting capacity of 1.5 tons capacity, whereas previously it was only 850 kg.

He further appeals to the households / citizens to work with the sanitation staff by placing dry and wet garbage in separate garbage to improve the efficiency of garbage removal and also make a healthy city in Hyderabad.

Mr. Rao remembers the services provided by the sanitation staff during the distribution Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent closure is commendable.

Furthermore, the Minister proposed to engage in special sanitation equipment taking into account the current situation.

Gadwal Vijaya Laxmi, mayor of the GHMC, said these Swachh cars are allocated to the rags / poor people under driver-owner, with a contribution from the beneficiaries of 10 percent and 90 percent by GHMC. The 650 cars will be distributed to the 30 circles according to the requirement. These cars are specially designed to transport garbage, even the material for health hazards can be transported.
