Karimnagar: District Collector K Shashanka on Thursday instructed officials to provide basic facilities to workers at the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).
He inspected ongoing NREGS works at Nedunur of Thimmapur mandate, apart from inspecting Palle Prakruthi Vanam, nursery, vermicomposting barn and cemetery works.
On the occasion, Shashanka asked officials to arrange a tent, drinking water, first aid kit and other basic facilities at the workplace. He instructed authorities to hand out weekly payslips to laborers.
He instructed officials to take steps to complete the work within the allotted time, and ordered the authorities to complete the works at the cemetery, Palle Prakruthi Vanam, vermicompost barn and nursery as early as possible.
He appreciated the sarpanch and secretary of gram panchayat because they used separate bins to collect wet and dry garbage separately.
He inaugurated a manufacturing unit for vermicompost by releasing earthworms. Later, he visited the anganwadi center and inquired about food and other facilities provided to children.
