Chennai, Mar 25 (UNI) Officials of the Income Tax Department
today conducting raids at the premises of senior DMK leader
and former DMK Minister E V Velu, who is seeking re-election
from his traditional Tiruvannamalai seat in the April six Assembly
elections.
Sources said that the raids were conducted at ten places belong
to Mr Velu and his family members and at the college owned by
him.
The raids were conducted at a time when DMK President M K Stalin
is campaigning for him in the constituency.
The raids were also held at the college run by Velu--a five time
MLA--where Mr Stalin stayed on Wednesday night.
The raids were held following reports of credible information
of cash movement allegedly meant for distribution to the voters.
