At least two CRPF personnel were killed and two others were injured Thursday in a suspected militant attack at Lawaypora on the outskirts of Srinagar city in Jammu and Kashmir.

The two injured personnel are in critical condition and have been rushed to a hospital, the CRPF said.

The militants opened fire on the CRPF personnel, a police official told PTI.

The area, which has witnessed several clashes between security forces and militants in recent years, has been cordoned off, the police official told PTI.

The attack on CRPF personnel comes days after four militants were killed in a gunbattle with security forces in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on March 22.
