Bengaluru: Karnataka on Tuesday reported 2,010 fresh Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, breaching the 2,000 mark for the first time in four months. The previous time the state witnessed over 2,000 cases a day was on November 14 with 2,154 infections.

Bengaluru alone accounted for over 50% cases, with 1,280 fresh infections. The state’s daily positivity rate stood at 2% and the daily fatality rate was 0.2%. Five Covid deaths were reported on Tuesday, of which three were from Bengaluru and one each from Kalaburagi and Hassan. On Tuesday, more than 1 lakh persons got vaccinated in Karnataka, of which 64,683 were senior citizens.
