The OnePus 9 series is now official and while stars of the show include the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, there is also a third smartphone that has not received the same level of attention. It is the OnePlus9R that has been announced exclusively for Indian users. It is aimed at delivering a superb gaming performance on a tight budget.
The OnePlus 9R is essentially an OnePlus 8T but with a few internal and visual changes here and there. The biggest difference is that the newer model is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. It is a processor much powerful than other commonly used mid-range ones and even supports vapor chamber cooling.
The phone sports a 6.55-inch Full HD+ Fluid AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It comes with a flat display panel with a 240Hz touch sampling rate. It will be available in two configuration options: 8GB RAM with 128GB onboard storage and 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage. There is no microSD card support as always.
The quad-camera setup will include a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 16-megapixel Sony IMX481 ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 5-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. The whole package is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W Warp Charge fast charging. It will run OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 out of the box.
OnePlus has priced the OnePlus 9R at INR 39,999 for the 8GB/128GB model and at INR 43,999 for the 12GB/256GB model. It wil go on sale in India by the end of the next month.
