    Zinc futures edge higher on spot demand

    On Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for the March delivery traded higher by 15 paise at Rs 217.90 per kg.

    NEW DELHI: Zinc prices rose by 15 paise to Rs 217.90 per kg in the futures trade on Wednesday tracking a firm trend in physical markets on the back of a pick-up in spot demand.

    On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for the March delivery traded higher by 15 paise, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 217.90 per kg with a business turnover of 1,284 lots.

    Marketmen said widening of positions by participants following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
