Hyderabad footpaths need to be cleaned and repaired: Telangana government

Hyderabad: An initiative was taken by the Telangana government to clean and repair the ancient stairwells of Hyderabad.

Only names of walking pits, such as Gachi bowli, Rethi bowli, Doodh bowli, Patli bowli, Ganga bowli, Hari bowli, Hathi bowli, Engine bowli, remain in the city that was once the feature of the city and many of the walking pits exist not even in the city, but the steps are being taken by HMDA to revive the old heritage’s footpaths.

The general secretary of municipal administration and urban development, Arvind Kumar, recently tweeted a photo of a footpath in Gudimalkapur being cleaned and restored to its original appearance. He added that the Bhagwan Das cleaning work had been recorded by the HMDA and that the heritage admirers were looking forward to visiting it and taking photos.

Historians believe that there is a lot of beautiful equipment in the city, but due to the constant negligence by the successive state governments, they are left behind.

Patli bowli’s name was preserved because there was a marble statue nearby and Doodh bowli name was kept because people from different parts of the city came to the old city’s Fateh Darwaza to buy milk.

Restoration work of the footpaths near Mah laqa bai tomb in Moula Ali, footpath in Pahadi Sharif and the large footpath in Sitarambagh took place.

Another step into the cleaning and restoration work of Bapu ghat is progressing fast. These hiking trails are of heritage importance in the history of Hyderabad.
