Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: MindTree, Ambuja Cements, Adani Total Gas, Ganesh Housing Corporation, CDSL, Prism Johnson, Sterling And Wilson Solar, Orchid Pharma, Fortis Healthcare and Godrej Industries.
Overall, 9 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 41 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.
In the Nifty 50 index, Cipla, Asian Paints, PowerGrid, Divi's Labs and Sun Pharma were among top gainers, while Tata Steel, Hindalco Industries, ONGC, ICICI Bank and GAIL were trading in red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 676.19 points down at 49375.25. Traders were seen piling up position in Diversified, Leather, Rubber, Sugar and Irrigation & Allied Services sectors, while selling were visible in Plastics, Infrastructure, Consumer Durables, IT - Hardware and Real Estate sectors.
