Proteas spinner Tabraiz Shamsi has become the number one ranked bowler in the T20 rankings following the International Cricket Council's latest update on Wednesday.
Shamsi moved past Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan and is now number one for the first time in his career.
Afghanistan completed a 3-0 whitewash against Zimbabwe with Khan picking up six wickets in the series and conceding 7.60 runs an over.
Last month, Shamsi finished as joint leading wicket-taker in the three-match series in Pakistan with six wickets, which included a four for 25 in the final T20 in Lahore.
Shamsi now holds a 14-point lead over Khan in the rankings.
The 31-year-old will be in action from next week when the Proteas take on Pakistan in the first of three ODIs on Friday, 2 April in Centurion.
The one-dayers will be followed by a four-match T20I series from 10-16 April with Shamsi also selected for that T20 squad.
