Queen's Granddaughter Zara Tindall Welcomes Third Child in Surprise Home Birth!
The Queen‘s granddaughter Zara Tindall and her husband Mike have welcomed their third child and the birth happened so quickly that their newborn son arrived in their home bathroom! The couple chose the name Lucas Philip Tindall.
On his podcast, the proud dad revealed the story on his podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby.
“A little baby boy arrived at my house!” he said on his podcast Wednesday.
He explained that when his wife went into labor her friend was with them and she “recognized that we wouldn’t have got to hospital in time.”
“So, it was run into the gym, get a mat, get into the bathroom, get a mat on the floor, towels down, ‘brace-brace-brace’,” Mike continued. “Fortunately, the midwife, who was going to meet us at the hospital wasn’t that far away, so she drove up, got there just as we’d assumed the pos-ish [position]. And then the second midwife arrived just after the head had arrived.”
The couple’s two daughters were not present for the birth. “[She] had contractions through the night — she hadn’t slept well the night before so we had someone take the kids for the day,” he added.
The couple are also parents to 7-year-old Mia and 2-year-old Lena.
This is the fifth grandchild for Princess Anne and the 10th great-grandchild for the Queen and Prince Philip, who said in a statement, “The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news and look forward to meeting their 10th Great Grandchild when circumstances allow.”
