Republic Media Network has issued a statement after the recent Provisional Attachment Order issued by The Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The order stated that Republic TV wasn't involved in the ongoing TRPScam which began with the owners of Fakt Marathi and Box Cinema being arrested. At the time, Republic TV was being investigated in the scam which accused channels of tampering with BARC data to boost their ratings.
The Provisional Attachment Order has stated that all the claims and allegations against Republic Media Network were false, malicious and fictitious, including the accusation about viewership malpractices within the network’s channels and affiliates.
Republic TV has also claimed that the ED has named other accused channels in the issue of abnormal viewership growth identified by BARC, with specific evidence against an English channel named in the original FIR in the TRP case.
