Amitabh Bachchan on his bond with son Abhishek Bachchan: 'When your son tells you which path to take, he becomes your friend'

One of the most active Indian celebrities on social media, megastar Amitabh Bachchan never leaves a chance to entertain his millions of fans. From sharing his stunning throwback pictures to doling out words of wisdom through poems, he has been a true blue social media star. Now, as Big B and Abhishek's respective upcoming films are all set for its releases, ahead of it, the 78-year-old megastar dedicated an appreciation post to son Abhishek Bachchan and attached a heart-warming note to it. Mr Bachchan shared a photo with his only son, in which he can be seen pointing towards a direction. Captioning the adorable father-son moment he wrote, 'When your son starts wearing your shoes... and tells you which path to take... he is no longer your son... he becomes your friend'. With it, the veteran actor also sent best wishes to Abhishek for his future endeavours, 'All the best buddy', he wrote. Soon after, Abhishek Bachchan responded with the hugs emoji in the comments section. Meanwhile, the veteran actor also added another feather to his hat as he was honoured with the 2021 FIAF Award for his efforts to preserve film heritage in the country. And with that, he became the first Indian to receive the prestigious award. The award was presented to him virtually by Hollywood filmmakers Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan, who praised Big B for his incredible body of work. On getting the prestigious award, Big B penned his thoughts and even shared a photo on social media. An elated Big B, wrote, 'I am deeply honoured to have been conferred with the 2021 FIAF Award. Thank you to FIAF and to Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan for bestowing the award on me in the ceremony today. Our commitment to the cause of saving India’s film heritage is unshakeable and Film Heritage Foundation will continue its efforts to build a nationwide movement to save our films.@FHF_Official @fiaf1938 @shividungarpur'. Now, talking about the work front, Amitabh will next be seen in 'Brahmastra' with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. He also has 'Mayday' and 'Jhund' in the pipeline.
