Automotive PCB specialist Chin-Poon Industrial expects capacity utilization at its plant in Changshu, China to rise above 90% as early as April, thanks to additional workforce support, according to company sources.
Chin-Poon said it has enlisted 500-600 new employees in March alone for its Changsu plant and will recruit more in April to significantly push up the plant's capacity utilization, which in turn will enable the company to return to the track for normal revenue growth in 2021. The company will also conduct a flexible recruitment program to enhance its manufacturing operations in Taiwan.
Chin-Poon has abundant orders in hand that are well beyond its currently available manufacturing capacity even if running at full utilization, according to the company.
Due to tight labor supply, the company said it has asked clients to clearly set the priority for shipments they need, so that it can focus more on production of automotive PCBs in most urgent demand.
Chin-Poon has reported its 2020 revenues slipped 14.26% on year to NT$153.13 billion (US$546.89 million), and net earnings plunged 93.02% to NT$46.12 million.
