Haryana: School bus crushes six-year-old to death in Yamunanagar

The injured girl was taken to the civil hospital in Jagadhari where doctors declared her brought dead.
YAMUNANAGAR: A six-year-old girl was crushed to death by her school bus in Labani village of Haryana's Yamunanagar district on Tuesday.
The deceased girl has been identified as Mannat Saini, a Class-2 student of Dahiya Senior Secondary School at Kalawar village, police said.
The parents of the girl alleged that the school administration had called the students to attend the school on a gazetted holiday.
On the complaint of Mannat’s father Manish Kumar, the police have registered a case against bus driver identified as Satish Kumar under Section 279 (rash driving) and 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Chhappar police station on Tuesday.
Manish told the police that Mannat’s school teacher had called her to school on Tuesday and when her school bus dropped her back t village at about 2pm, she got crushed under a wheel of the bus due to negligence by the driver.
“There was no conductor present in the bus. She died on the spot. When she was dropped from the bus, she went to the other side of the street. The driver drove the bus in a negligent manner without assuring the safety of the girl,” said Manish.
Manish said that the girl was taken to the civil hospital in Jagadhri where the doctors declared her brought dead.
“The school has done a violation of rule of the Haryana state education department by calling the students to school on a gazetted holiday. A fact finding team will visit the school on Wednesday and will recommend an action against the school administration,” deputy education officer Shiv Kumar said.
