TIM launches EUR 7.5 mln Foggia FTTH rollout

Tuesday 23 March 2021 | 15:27 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) said it has begun works to build a fibre-to-the-home network in the southern city of Foggia in the Puglia region in a total investment of EUR 7.5 million. The company said the FTTH rollout is part the plans of its FiberCop co-investment venture and will eventually enable residents in around 38,000 premises to access the internet at download speeds of up to 1 Gbps, up from the current maximum of 200 Mbps. TIM's existing FTTC network covers around 53,000 homes, equivalent to over 98 percent of the city's lines.
