Patna, Mar 23 (UNI) Amid continuous disruptions and strong noisy protest by the opposition over Bihar Police Act Bill 2021, the Bihar assembly was adjourned twice, the second time till lunch after taking up the enlisted financial businesses customarily.
As the Lower House reassembled after adjournment following the ruckus created by the opposition over the bill during question hour which was disrupted due to the pandemonium, the opposition members again raise their voice against the bill.
The Speaker, who announced to take up the zero hour proceedings, the opposition members carrying the copy of the bill and demanding its withdrawal entered into the well collectively.
After the two of the members read their notices for the Zero Hour, the speaker hurriedly took up the financial business enlisted for the day announcing to send the rest of the notices and call attention to the concerned committees of the lower house.
At one point of time when the Deputy Chief Minister Tar Kishore Prasad who is also holding the finance portfolio was tabling the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report for the year 2017-18, Appropriation Bill 2018-19, green budget for the year 2020-21 and gender budget for the year 2020-21 and 2021-22, some of the opposition members tried to snatch the copy of the budget from him.
The Deputy CM however managed to table the CAG report along with other bills.
The slogans shouting opposition members approached the treasury benches entering into the area of the ruling side. Some of the opposition members even lifted the chairs of the government reporters during their protest. Some members tore the copy of the bills and started throwing its pieces from the well.
Amid ruckus and complete disorder the speaker hurriedly adjourned the house till lunch at 12:16 p.m.
Earlier when the Lower House had assembled for the day, the RJD members along with other members of the opposition parties had entered into the well and created noise demanding the withdrawal of the bill which they termed as a dark bill. Objecting to it the protesting members said that its harsh provisions would give sweeping power to police, causing troubles for the common man, if the bill was passed and took the shape of the new law.
Following their strong protest, the House, after a brief period was adjourned till 12 O' clock.
