The OnePlus 9 is here, giving us our official detailed look at the much awaited flagship grade smartphones. This year, the OnePlus 9 series has gotten more interesting thanks to a Hasselblad partnership. However, the India-special OnePlus 9R has so far eluded screen time. The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro come with features such as a 120Hz Fluid Display 2.0 with adaptive refresh rate of 1-120Hz, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, a Hasselblad-branded triple and quad rear camera setup including a 48MP Sony IMX789 custom sensor on the OnePlus 9 Pro. The latter is reportedly the largest image sensor there is on a smartphone in the world right now. It also gets a 50MP ultra-wide unit, and Hasselblad has lent its expertise to Natural Colour Calibration algos on these phones. OnePlus has also launched the OnePlus Watch — which is its first smartwatch to launch in India, and the second wearable after the OnePlus Band. The OnePlus 9 price in India starts at Rs 49,999 for 8GB + 128GB, and goes all the way up to Rs 69,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant of the OnePlus 9 Pro.
OnePlus has expectedly gone the premium route with the overall build quality and design of the OnePlus 9 series. The company has also offered a premium wearable experience with the Cobalt Limited Edition of the OnePlus Watch, which gets a cobalt alloy body and sapphire glass on top. It does not run on Google’s WearOS software ecosystem. As a result, it does not get the ability to reply to messages or interact with third party apps from the Watch itself. You will therefore get a limited experience with the OnePlus Watch, even though it gets features such as round the clock bloody oxygen tracking, a barometer, 50 watch faces, calling and more. It is essentially similar to the Realme Watch S Pro, with what looks like a more premium build. The Watch is priced at Rs 16,999 in India.

The OnePlus 9 costs Rs 49,999 (8+128GB) and Rs 54,999 (12+256GB).

There has been no word on the OnePlus 9R, and the event has ended. Guess we'll have to wait for that.
Now, for accessories and prices. The OP 9 Pro has four bumper cases, the OP 9 has two. There is also an optional shoulder trigger for gamers.

The OnePlus Watch gets "one week" of usage in 20 minutes. Not sure exactly what the one-week metric included for OnePlus.
The Watch can also lower your TV volume if you get a call when watching a show. The catch is obvious: you have to have a OnePlus TV, too.
The Watch gets IP68 rating, handsfree music control, 110 activity modes and 50 watch faces. It can also answer calls. Sadly, you can only read messages and view notifications, but not reply to them or interact with third party app notifications. I was apprehensive of this limitation.
If you're not sure if you feel anxious or not, the OnePlus Watch will tell you if you are with a dedicated anxiety monitor (from what it seems).
It gets a 1.39-inch 326ppi display, a hypoallergenic body, an SpO2 sensor, constant heart rate monitor, altimeter, air pressure reader (read: barometer), integrated GPS and more.
The OnePlus Watch gets a Cobalt Limited Edition, which apparently is super difficult to make. It also features a sapphire glass on top, making it even more premium (and expensive, I'm sure).
The OnePlus Watch has a 46mm watch case, a surgical steel grade body, two buttons, a minimal circular layout, and the display glass tucked into the watch body.
Now, on to the OnePlus Watch, along with Vita Hsu of, well, OnePlus.
"On a scale of 1 to 10, this is a OnePlus 9."
I bet they waited all these years to be able to use this line.
The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro get the same battery config. Here's a roundup.
The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro get the same ultra-wide camera. The main unit on the OnePlus 9 has a 48MP Sony IMX689 instead of the IMX789. However, it still gets the Snapdragon 888.
Meanwhile, some details about the OnePlus 9: It has a flat OLED display, a triple camera setup, a fibre glass polymer mid-frame, and three colours (that you can see below).

The OnePlus 9 Pro gets a 4500mAh battery with Warp Charge 65T fast charging tech. This can charge up to 65 percent in 15 minutes, and 100 percent in 29 minutes. Also, the OnePlus 9 Pro fast wireless charger can juice up to 100 percent in 43 minutes -- apparently the fastest standard in the tech industry. There was also some Apple dig hidden over there by OnePlus.
More on performance: The OnePlus 9 Pro features the Snapdragon 888, with a new heat dissipation tech called Cool Play (very unimaginative, this). It has a five-layer heat dissipation tech with "copper, graphite and other material". Apparently, it gives an additional gaming time of 500 hours per year. IF you can game for that long.
Moral: The OnePlus 9 series display is very extremely incredibly supremely smooth.
Now, we're looking at the OnePlus 9 Pro's Fluid Display 2.0 -- featuring adaptive refresh rate from 1-120Hz. It features an LTPO display panel that takes 50 percent less power. It also features Hyper Touch with 6x faster touch response (not sure what the exact figure is).
Take a look, fellas.
This is how the OnePlus 9 Pro looks like. It looks premium enough, with curved edges at the rear and on the display to perfectly fit your palms. The matte frosted glass on the black colour variant will apparently feel like the classic Sandstone texture of the OnePlus One. I won't believe it until I see it in person.

OnePlus also just showed off its new night video mode, by showing a frame that was rather well-lit. Hey, I'm only stating the facts here.
Video capabilities include 8K videos at 30fps, and -- wait for it -- yep, 4K 120fps, just like what was flaunted. There's also the DoL-HDR mode, which we'll explain in a dedicated OnePlus 9 Pro review and camera analysis post later.
OnePlus says there is a new Pro mode that they call Hasselblad Pro. It... does nothing more than what other OEM Pro modes already do (from what the camera interface looked like).
The other two cameras on the OP 9 Pro include a 3.3x telephoto zoom unit with OIS and 30x digital zoom, and a dedicated monochrome sensor.
