Australian hyperscale data centre specialist AirTrunk has opened a new facility in Sydney's north, the 110+ MW AirTrunk SYD2 centre.
A statement from the company said the data centre would among the largest in the country.
Along with facilities in Western Sydney and Melbourne, it would take AirTrunk's total capacity in Australia to more than 370MW.
In December, AirTrunk opened two new facilities, in Singapore and Hong Kong, providing more than 80MW of IT load.
The north Sydney facility is the company's fifth in the Asia-Pacific region in the last 3½ years.
It is powered by a dedicated 200MVA 132kV substation - among the biggest in NSW – and the power infrastructure is claimed to be able to deliver 100% availability and cost-effectiveness for customers.
SYD2 has been designed to an industry-low power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.15.
