Tanzania’s President died on Wednesday from heart inconveniences at a clinic in Dar es Salaam, Samia Suluhu Hassan said addressing on state TV.
Rumors have been started regarding his health issues as there was no public appearance of him for more than weeks.
Politicians said a week ago that he had contracted Covid-19, yet this has not been affirmed.
Mr. Magufuli was one of Africa’s most noticeable Covid sceptics, and called for supplications and natural imbued steam treatment to counter the infection.
“It is with a deep lament that I inform today, we lost our courageous chief, the leader of the Republic of Tanzania, John Pombe Magufuli,” Vice-President Hassan said in the declaration.
