A bizarre photo of a car filled with bees being driven by a woman has taken the internet by storm. A woman from the US was photographed driving a Toyota Prius on Sunday with a beekeeper’s nest in her backseat. Strangely, the windows of the car filled with the swarm of bees appear to be closed. The woman behind the wheels was captured in a photo in Daphne in the state of Alabama. The image was shared by Jocelyn Jordan on Facebook. Jordan spotted the unnamed woman driving through Mobile, Alabama on March 19.
The picture appears to reveal a wooden hive on the car’s back seat, with bees filling the vehicle’s interior and windows. However, the driver seemed to be absolutely unperturbed by the creatures. According to Metro UK, the snapped woman was said to have been having a conversation over her phone as well while countless bees buzzed all around her.
Jordan, who took the now-viral photograph, told the media outlet how she just about died. Jordan was perplexed, to say the least saying that she “almost ran off the road” at the sight of the car filled with bees. She added that she can understand that the hives had to be transported, but there is a way to keep the bees contained. Further elaborating about the woman behind the wheels, Jordan said that she was chatting like everything was normal adding that she even honked at the lady thinking she’d saved her. The Facebook user, however, realised later that the insects were crawling in the front seat too.
As per a report in Yahoo News Australia, the woman who remained unfazed by the bees claimed to be the driver in the photo. The local beekeeper offered an explanation saying that “Unfortunately I had a driver slam on brakes to make a turn without signalling about a block or two up the road. That’s when the plug for the hive came undone when I had to sharply press the brakes. To see what it actually looks like from the outside does look insane.”
