India Legends are being lauded for their series win in the Road Safety World Series 2020-21. However, a significant number of Sri Lankan cricket fans are unhappy with Manpreet Gony,who accidentally ended up hurting Sri Lankan batsman Chinthaka Jayasinghe. Even though the bowler immediately apologised for his error, the social media has not spared him.

The incident occurred in the 17th over of the chase when Manpreet delivered a wayward throw injuring Jayasinghe’s elbow. The injury seemed to be quite serious as the batsman immediately required medical attention. Indian players on the field too gathered around the injured player to enquire about his condition.

Many social media usersexpressed their displeasure on the cricketer's official page. Some users wrote nasty comments on the last post on his page, whih was shared on January 25, 2018. A person, visibly angry with the bowler, said, "'Legends',it doesn't suityou. If you want to be a legend, follow up the Srilankan Legends. But you'll never be the same. You victory isn't the real one coz you are a cheater. Real heroes are Sri lankan Legends. That's it.” Another one wrote, “You collided with the wrong country. What the hell did you do then? Cowards, it's not an accident. Suppose you collided with the wrong country.”

The India Legends won the match by 14 runs on Sunday at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Man of the Match was awarded to Yusuf Pathan, who took two wickets and pulled off an unbeaten 62 from 36 balls.

Total score of the team led by Sachin Tendulkar was 181 for four. Major credit in setting the number went to Yusuf, Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh. Yuvi managed 60 runs from 41 balls, while Tendulkar scored 30 runs from 23 balls.
