Marathwada region records more than 4,000 fresh COVID cases, 40 deaths

Aurangabad, Mar 23(UNI) The situation in the eight district of Marathwada region worsened following the outbreak of the second wave of the COVID pandemic as the region collectively reported 4,323 of COVID AND 40 deaths during the past 24 hours.

According to the authorities Aurangabad and Nanded are worst affected districts in the region.


Meanwhile, Aurangabad District Collector Sunil Chavan has directed that all citizens must undergo COVID testing in the villages where more than 25 papeopel tested positive for COVID-19, in order to prevent the spread of the corona virus.
Mr Chavan said that as the number of patients rises, we will be allowing private hospitals to conduct CCCs in rural areas, apart from carrying out patient screening campaigns and increasing the number of plus CCC beds, as well as large-scale testing.
Nanded District collector Dr Vipin Itankar issued an order implementing Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) with effect from midnight of March 25 till April 4 midnight in the entire district in the wake of raising cases of COVID.

Beed District Collector Ravindra Jagtap has instructed all government officials and employees in the district to conduct COVID tests. Officers and employees of the revenue department are udergoing tests here on Tuesday. Officers of the police department and the officers of all the departments under the Zilla Parishad, will under go tests on March 25 and 26. The judicial officers of the court, on March 27. The directive also says that the antigen, RTPCR, tests should also be carried out.
District Collector Parbhani Deepak Mugalikar on Monday issued orders to impose curfew in the district from 1900 hours on Wednesday March 24 till March 31 in view of the rising incidence of corona virus.

The DC has informed that the officers and employees coming and going from Parbhani district will not be allowed to enter the district till March 31.
The district collector also said that punitive action will be taken against people who are found to be roaming on the streets without a face mask and has ordered that such people be detained and kept in isolation and they may be made to undergo RTPCR test. He said that this action is being taken as some people are not following the rules despite repeated instructions. The responsibility for implementation of this order has been placed on the Commissioner along with the District Superintendent of Police.
