Farmers training programme conducted at Kakching

Imphal, March 22 2021:
A one day training programme on "Seed production of soybean under Manipur conditions" was held at the hall of Kuraopokpi Industrial Estate of Laipham Lotnung village, Kakching district) on March 21 .
The programme was organized by ICAR-AICRP (Soybean), Directorate of Research, Central Agricultural University, Imphal under NEH programme.
More than 60 farmers from the village attended the said programme.
Dr H Nanita Devi, Plant Breeder, CAU, Imphal spoke on "Seed production technique in soybean" as a resource person.
The second speaker was Dr Nilima Karam, Entomologist, CAU, Imphal who spoke on "Integrated pest management of Soybean pests under Manipur conditions".
The last speaker was Dr L Sophia Devi, Food Scientist, CAU, Imphal who spoke on "Value added products of soybean".
The programme was undertaken with assistance from Dr H Subhra Devi, Proprietor, Meira Foods.
Preparation of various value added food products of soybean was also demonstrated.
Agricultural inputs viz., soybean seeds, maize seeds for intercropping with soybean and botanical insecticides for pest management were also distributed to the farmers.
