Covid test mandatory for visitors from Punjab, Kerala & Maharashtra

Mysuru, Mar 23 (UNI) In view of the spike in Covid cases in Karnataka, Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri on Tuesday said that people arriving from Maharashtra, Kerala and Punjab will be compulsorily tested for the virus.
She told the officials that a circular has been issued by the state government in this connection and asked them to be more careful near the Kerala border.
She said more covid-19 cases have been reported in Maharashtra, Kerala and Punjab. Those coming from these States need to bring negative reports before entering the State. These reports are a must for any one boarding a flight. Those travelling by bus or train will also have to carry the RT-PCR report with them, there is an exception in some cases.
VVIPs, Health workers and children below 2 years of age can board a bus, train or flight without any report. Though there is an exception, the concerned officials need to collect their swab along with all the details. The fresh government guidelines will come into force from March 25.
She said that open more checkpoints to keep an eye on Coronavirus cases.
At least 5000 Covid tests need to be conducted daily at all Taluk, Covid tests are a must in temples, Schools, Colleges and major centers.
