121 fresh Covid-19 cases in Gurgaon, tally close to 61k

Gurgaon: The city on Monday reported 121 new Covid-19 cases, taking its tally to 60,828. The health department said 81 patients also recovered on the day, bringing the total number of recoveries to 59,494. The recovery rate stands at 98.1%. One person died of the infection. So far, 361 people in the city have died of Covid, of whom 273 had comorbidities.
As of Monday, the city had 973 active cases, and 902 of the patients were in home isolation. The active numbers had shown a downward trend from January 18 till March 10, after which they have been slowly rising again.
Four people were sent to institutional quarantine facilities on Monday. So far, 9,00,589 people have been put under surveillance in the city. In the past 24 hours, the health authorities collected 3,671 samples for antigen and RT-PCR tests. Till now, 8,97,003 samples have been sent for testing, of which 8,32,553 returned negative while the results of 2,293 are awaited.
Haryana reported three more Covid-19 fatalities on Monday, taking the state’s death toll to 3,101.
