YAMUNANAGAR: The police have registered a case against an accused married man allegedly for raping a 19-year-old on the pretext of marrying her.
On the complaint of the teenage girl, a case has been registered against Sanif Khan under Sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc.) and 376 (punishment for rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Yamunanagar Women police station on Monday, March 22.
The complainant girl stated to the police, “I am a student of Class-XI at a Government Senior Secondary School in Yamunanagar district and became friend with Sanif about two-three months ago. Sanif took me at his house in his village on March 21, 2021 night and gave me something after which I fell unconscious and he raped me. Next day, he dropped me near my village and ran away from there.”
The girl said that she disclosed the ordeal to her parents after going home.
“My sister-in-law called Sanif on his phone and he told her that he was married and could not marry me”, stated the girl.
The police said that a case has been registered against the accused and the matter is being investigated.
