Donald Trump may not be the president of the United States anymore, but the violent riots at the Capitol Hill which he incited by his speeches continue to have consequences. A recent report highlights how a police detective filed for divorce after he discovered that his wife was part of the ‘Make America Great Again’ (MAGA) crowd that wreaked havoc at the American legislature building on January 6, 2021.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Detective Michael Heinl of Pennsylvania’s Shaler Township Police Department and part of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Pittsburgh office’s violent crimes task force filed for divorce from his wife after she was photographed with another man during the Capitol riots.

Jennifer Heinl was part of the January 6 crowd that had planned to storm and possibly harm the legislators present inside the Capitol Hill building in order to disrupt the US Congress that was proceeding to certify the Electoral College win of Democrat party politicians Joe Biden and Kamala Harris who won the 2020 presidential election.

The 55-year-old woman is now charged with crimes connected to the riot. The report further mentions that the FBI investigation team identified Jennifer through her association with Kenneth Grayson, who is seen in videos standing next to her and talking to her inside the Rotunda. The man named Grayson has been previously charged in connection with the insurrection, reports Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The report mentions that Detective Michael had asked his wife to not attend the MAGA rally that day. The news website quoted Chief of the Shaler Township Police Department Sean Frank who vouched for Michael’s clean record and said that his wife was a part of that situation and he did not condone it. He did not ask her to go there and he was not there with her as he was working that day.

Detective Michael filed for divorce from his wife in February and he is not a part of the investigation into his wife’s alleged crimes, which were investigated by the FBI in Pittsburgh.
