Manipur clinched the team champions title in the 11th Men's Junior/Masters/Divyang Bodybuilding and 2nd Junior Women's Sports Model Physique/ Ladies Women's Sports Model Physique National Champions which was conducted at Ludhiana from March 20 till yesterday.

Manipur won 6 medals including a gold, four silver and a bronze to finish team champions.

In all, 255 participants from across 27 States of India took part in the said championship, said the All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA) in a press release.

As per the release, Chingkheinganba Athokpam who competed in the 70 kg junior men's bodybuilding earned Manipur the lone goal medal as Hijam Telheiba (Jr Men's 55 kg), Laishram Roshan (Jr Men's 60 kg), Md Shahabaj Shah (Jr Men's 65 kg) and Pebam Medhajit Singh (Jr Men's 75+ kg) settled for silver medals.

Jenika Naorem, on the other hand, grabbed the bronze medal for Manipur in the Junior Women's Sports Model Physique competition, it said.

Khutheibam Mohd Ashaad Khan (Jr Men's 75 kg) and VS Lungchanwon (Junior Women's Sports Model Physique) who were also in the State team finished 4th and 5th in their respective events, it said.

S Dhruba and N Ranjit Singh led the State team as manager and coach respectively.
