Rampur, Mar 22 (UNI) Five people, including a minor and two women, were killed while 10 others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between an SUV and a pick-up vehicle in the Civil Lines area here on Monday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Shagun Gautam here said that the accident happened around 0630 hrs at National Highway-24 near the Pasiyapura village of the Civil Lines area. Five people, including four members of a family, were killed in the accident.
The deceased have been identified as Rahul (24), Poonam (28), Meena (50), 14-month-old Gunan and Ashish (15).
The injured have been admitted to the hospital and three of them are stated to be critical. The pick-up vehicle was seating more people than its capacity. All the people were headed towards Shahjahanpur from Ghaziabad to their homes.
