Sangareddy: Outer Ring Road was built to ease traffic congestion in and around Hyderabad. As one road led to the development and relief of traffic, the state government submitted a proposal to build a local ring road project (RRR), 30 km away from the outer ring road, to the central government.
The central government has given the green light to the proposal under the Bharatmala scheme. The RRR project is being built at 17 thousand crores and will be built from two directions, namely north and south.
The 340 km long regional ring road will be 158 km long in the north and 182 km long in the south with 8 lanes. The local ring road will be connected to cities, 25 towns and 300 districts, and the cost of building the road will be borne equally between the central and state governments.
The central government gave the green signal to start building the first phase of 158 km from the north, ie from Sanga Reddy to Choutupul, after which the state government allocated 750 kroner from its budget. The northern part of the project starts from Sangareddy, Narsapur, Toopran, Gajwel, Jagdevpur, Bhongir and ends at Choutupul.
The northern regional ring project will cost 9,522 crone, of which 7561 crores will be spent on road construction and 1961 crores on land purchases. About 4870 hectares of land are needed for its construction.
The state government is awaiting approval from the central government to build the southern regional ring road. As a result of the local ring projects, many developments are taking place in the surrounding areas, and land prices are also increasing, leading to a boom in real estate.
