BHUBANESWAR: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday virtually launched the Mo College campaign to make higher education more organic and innovative. Like Mo School, this initiative will also connect alumni across the globe to their alma maters in Odisha.
Naveen, who launched the web portal, also appealed to the alumni to help rebuild their own institutions. He hoped that Mo College will bring similar response like Mo School.
The alumni of more than 750 colleges and universities were connected through livestream. The alumni, staying across the globe, were watching this programme online. Naveen while addressing them said the campaign is an emotionally invested platform reconnecting the Odia alumni. The chief minister said that philanthropists, charitable organizations, group of persons and institutions can also be part of this initiative other than the alumni.
He also said that under this campaign the state government will double the financial amount contributed by the alumni with a cap of Rs 50 lakh per annum per institution. “The campaign is grounded on the principles of nation-building, promoting creativity, skill development and nurturing teamwork, thereby making the colleges and universities an innovative and exciting place to study. We all should realize the joy of giving back to our respective alma maters, where we enjoyed the most vibrant period of our youth, and shaped our future,” Naveen said.
