Mumbai: Metro to increase total number of services to 280 from Monday

Current weekday ridership of Mumbai Metro One is 1.1 lakhs as against 4.5 lakh before Covid.
MUMBAI: Mumbai Metro One Private Ltd (MMOPL) has decided to increase the total number of services by 24 from today ensure less overcrowding in trains from Monday.
Metro One official said, "We will be running around 280 train trips as against 256 trips earlier. This will ensure creating additional space, ensuring better social distancing and increased travel comfort inside trains."
Current weekday ridership of Mumbai Metro One is 1.1 lakhs as against 4.5 lakh before Covid.
Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd (MMOPL) restarted its services from October 2020 after a gap of almost seven months and by December, daily ridership had touched 50,000.
According to Covid-19 norms, only 300 passengers are permitted to travel on each train. When services resumed, MMOPL had hoped to carry 60,000 people per day, and the target has been achieved.
