  • Britney Spears is reportedly considering opening up about her story.
  • The pop star has been a conservatorship since 2008; in recent years she's attempted removing her father, Jamie Spears, who's been in charge of her estate.
  • Now, a source says Britney's "always hated doing interviews". "But if she ever takes that step, Oprah would most likely be her first choice."

Following Meghan and Harry's explosive interview, could Oprah's next tell-all be with Britney Spears?

The pop star is reportedly considering it, as her conservatorship battle with her father continues.

"Britney has considered speaking out about her past, mostly because she doesn't feel others should tell her story," a source tells Entertainment Tonight. "She's always hated doing interviews but if she ever takes that step, Oprah would most likely be her first choice. At this point, there is no plan in the works for her to do an interview but when she does, there will be steps Britney would need to take before speaking out."

The insider adds that Britney is feeling "much happier" lately due to the support of her fans. "The release of the documentary [Framing Britney Spears] has inspired an outpouring of more love than ever. While she hasn't been able to make changes to her conservatorship, she's received millions of messages from fans on social media and she feels far more understood."

On Wednesday a hearing took place in which Britney's attorney, Samuel Ingham, said he plans to file a petition asking the court to make Jodi Montgomery Britney's permanent conservator. Britney, in August 2020, requested Jodi, a professionally licensed conservator who stepped in for her father temporarily when he was dealing with his own health issues, become her permanent conservator. The court denied the request at the time.
