Food stalls at Mai-Own inspected

Foods and ingredients used in food stalls at 'Mai-Own, 2021' have been tested and are safe to consume.
Dr Indira, CMO, Imphal East said this today after conducting a drive at the ongoing 'Mai-Own, 2021' exhibition at Hapta Kangjeibung.
The drive was conducted in presence of Dr Indira,CMO, Imphal East; Th Sunilkumar, designated officer, Imphal East; Ch Sanajaoba, food analyst, State Food Testing Lab and A Bihari, technical officer, Food Testing Lab, Medical Directorate.
Dr Indira said a number of food stalls were opened at the exhibition and the team inspected each and every food item, if they were safe to consume and that they don't contain any harmful substances.
She added that the spices, oil and other ingredients used by the food stalls in the exhibition were also tested and found to be safe to consume.
Dr India also added that the food stalls were also verified if they were opened under license or not, if anyone was found to be operating without relevant license, they were liable to be fined with amounts ranging from Rs 50,000/- to Rs 5,00,000/-.A t-shirt was also launched today before the drive.
