Maharashtra: BJP holds protests for resignation of Anil Deshmukh


BJP employees on Sunday staged protests in Nagpur and Pune demanding resignation of Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in view of allegations of corruption levelled towards him by former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh. While Deshmukh is dealing with flak, NCP activists hit streets in Nagpur towards Singh alleging that he was defaming the state dwelling minister.

Days after he was shunted as Mumbai police commissioner, Singh wrote a letter to the CM claiming Deshmukh, a senior NCP chief from Nagpur district, had requested Waze and different cops to gather Rs 100 crore month-to-month from bars and motels in Mumbai.

Leading a protest in Pune, state BJP chief Chandrakant Patil stated there was no ethical floor left for the Shiv Sena- led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) authorities to stay in energy.
